Meet the heart and soul of Ngozi Collection

Our talented team pours their passion into every stitch.

Meet Ngozi’s owner, Marnica.

The Ngozi collection, established in 2020 as a hobby, evolved into a small leather business amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beginning in my garage with hand-stitching leather, I transitioned to an industrial machine gifted on my birthday. One creation led to another, eventually amassing enough stock for a roadside stall owned by my mother in Knysna. Subsequently, receiving numerous private orders expanded our presence to several stockists across South Africa.

In April 2022, I hired my first staff member, and we've since grown into a team of seven, working around the clock at our premises at Sugar Rush Park. Sourcing leather, cutting, preparing, sewing and retailing occur onsite. We procure our leather, hardware, and haberdashery from local suppliers around Pinetown and Durban.

Inspired by simplicity and practicality for everyday use, I find excitement in working with my hands, feeling leather textures, and crafting durable products.

Meet Claire

The first member to join Marnica in 2022.

Claire’s journey is truly inspiring. With an administrative background and a deep love for making bags in her spare time, she bravely decided to turn her passion into her full-time career. As they say, “Do what you love, and you will never work another day in your life.”
